Job Description

We are looking for a project manager for the Migration subproject within Cloud Transformation for our client. The role involves leading, planning, and ensuring the execution of the migration to the cloud in a structured and controlled manner, with clear responsibility for coordination, progress, risk management, and delivery against a set deadline. The assignment is part of a larger program with several parallel tracks and clear dependencies on initiatives within architecture, platform, development, and operations. You will work cross-functionally and coordinate multiple teams, domains, and technical tracks, create and manage an overarching migration plan, and establish working methods and forums that enable effective coordination and follow-up. The role also includes preparing and presenting status and decision-making materials to program management and steering groups, as well as ensuring that technical decisions and activities support the program's goals, timeline, and quality requirements. As part of the implementation, you will build and lead a virtual Cloud Migration Factory and gradually identify relevant team members as the migration progresses.

Deliverables

Lead the migration subproject with responsibility for planning, execution, and follow-up; establish, visualize, and manage an overarching migration plan including milestones and timelines; coordinate work between multiple teams, domains, and technical tracks; analyze and communicate dependencies between applications, data, platform, and infrastructure; ensure structure for tracking progress, risks, decisions, and deviations; drive forums for collaboration between business, technology, architects, and program management; prepare and present status, decision-making materials, and recommendations to program management and steering groups; ensure that technical decisions and activities support the program's goals, timeline, and quality requirements. You are also expected to build and lead a virtual Cloud Migration Factory and gradually identify team members as the migration progresses.

Mandatory Requirements

• Degree in engineering or equivalent academic education
• Documented experience in leading or coordinating cloud migrations to public cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Documented experience in leading complex migration or transformation initiatives in the role of project manager, subproject manager, or equivalent.
• Experience with migrations that included modernization/architectural changes, not just lift-and-shift.
• Experience working in larger programs or initiatives with multiple parallel tracks and clear dependencies.
• Overall technical and architectural understanding, sufficient to: · grasp technical dependencies and architectural consequences · prioritize and plan migration order · engage in qualified dialogue with architects and technical specialists
• Documented experience collaborating with many teams and stakeholders without formal personnel responsibility.

Desirable

Desirable is experience working with Google Cloud Platform in a production environment and experience with migration initiatives in technically complex environments. Furthermore, understanding architectural issues and technical dependencies in modern cloud landscapes (e.g., identity, integration, and security) is desirable. It is also advantageous to have experience working closely with architects and platform teams in larger change initiatives, experience from regulated/business-critical/high-transaction environments, and experience delivering against fixed deadlines with high demands for stability, quality, and governance.

• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform in a production environment.
• Experience with migration initiatives in technically complex environments, such as microservices, container platforms, and distributed systems (at a conceptual level).
• Understanding architectural issues and technical dependencies in modern cloud landscapes, such as identity, integration, and security (e.g., IAM, OAuth2).
• Experience working closely with architects and platform teams in larger change initiatives.
• Experience from regulated, business-critical, or high-transaction environments.
• Experience delivering against fixed deadlines with high demands for stability, quality, and governance.
